I’m Martin Lind, and my journey has been one of transformation, taking me from the world of music to the realm of electricity. It’s been a life-changing and challenging experience, but one that has also been incredibly rewarding.
My musical career began in 1989 when I made a self-released maxi-single “Every Little James Dean.” This marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in my life, as it led me to join the Danish grunge act, Boghandle. Over the next decade, we toured extensively and released several albums that brought joy and energy to the music scene.
In the ’90s, I not only headed Boghandle but also played lead guitar for prominent names like Sort Sol and Caroline Henderson. In 1996, I achieved a significant milestone in my musical journey by becoming a Tonmeister after completing my education at The Royal Danish Conservatory. This distinguished classical education in audio engineering and music production enriched my understanding of sound and recording techniques.
The late ’90s saw the formation of Denmark’s first-ever trip hop/post-rock band, Deepfried Toguma, which I co-founded with Frithjof Toksvig and flamenco singer Gustav Carl Rey Henningsen. However, as life progressed, I decided to take a twenty-year hiatus in the early 2000s, prioritizing my family and exploring opportunities in the studio.
In 2019, I experienced a significant turning point as I made my comeback with the release of my first solo album, ‘Metanoia,’ a project that represented a personal and artistic reawakening. This return to the spotlight allowed me to continue pursuing my passion for music while drawing from the knowledge and expertise gained during my Tonmeister training.
In 2021, I furthered my musical journey with the release of my second album, ‘Insulae,’ delving deeper into my creative expressions. Music has always been a core part of who I am, and it continues to inspire and drive me forward.
Despite my passion for music, the challenges posed by economic realities in the creative field led me to a decision that would shape the next phase of my life. When the world went through tough times during the pandemic-induced lockdowns, I made a bold choice to embark on a different path. I decided to become an electrician apprentice, stepping into a field that is also about creating, building, and making connections, albeit in a different way.
Becoming an electrician has been both demanding and fulfilling. The process of learning and mastering a new trade has taught me valuable skills, while the sense of accomplishment that comes with a job well done is immeasurable.
As I embrace my new role as an electrician, I continue to pursue my musical passions. I am currently working on my third solo album, “Somnus AI,” which promises to be an exploration of creativity and technology intertwining. Additionally, I’ve had the opportunity to contribute to the world of television documentaries through my occasional writing.
This journey of transformation and growth, spanning my musical beginnings, my Tonmeister education, and my evolving career as an electrician and musician, has shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. I am grateful for every experience, as they have all contributed to making me the person I am today.
Thank you for visiting my page and being a part of this incredible journey with me. I hope that my music and my story continue to resonate with you as I navigate the exciting paths that life unfolds.
Together, let’s embrace change, embrace creativity, and embrace the power of connection – whether through music or the flow of electricity.
